Since 2018, la Classique d'athlétisme de Montréal is a track and field competition open to athletes of all levels, incorporating an Elite component with access standards. In 2022, the meet is sanctioned by the North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletics Association (NACAC) and part of the Athletics Canada National Track & Field Tour. Among the World Athletics meets, La Classique will be a D category meet. The competition will be held on Sunday June 5 2022 at Complexe Claude-Robillard, site of the 2020 Olympic Trials. La Classique, although open to all levels of athletes in its Open, Elite and Premium components, is oriented towards high performance.

La Classique d'athlétisme de Montréal 2022 will be the fourth meet in the National Track & Field Tour coordinated by Athletics Canada to support Canadian athletes seeking meets on Canadian soil. It also stands as a good qualifying opportunity for the 2022 World Athletics World Championships.

It is a well-known fact that athletes can often achieve great performances when the stress and stakes of a national championship are taken away. We want to place athletes in the best possible environment and the optimal conditions towards achieving higher level performance.

Athletes looking for WA standards, personal bests or just a good competition will surely find what they are looking for when participating in La Classique.

La Classique d'athlétisme de Montréal is organized with the technical and volunteer support of the Club d'athlétisme Saint-Laurent Sélect. This close cooperation between the SLS and our organization have allowed the Classique to be awarded the FQA Athlètas trophy for best stadium competition in 2021.
