About La Classique...
La Classique d'athlétisme de Montréal is a track and field competition open to athletes of all levels, incorporating an Elite component with access standards. Exceptionally in 2021, it is part of the World Athletics Continental Tour - Bronze Category. The competition will be held on June 29, 2021, at Complexe Claude-Robillard, two days after the 2021 Canadian Championships / Olympic Trials in Montreal. La Classique although open to all levels of athletes in its open, Elite and Premium components, is oriented towards high performance.
La Classique d'athlétisme de Montréal 2021 will be the culmination of a series of nine track and field meets announced by Athletics Canada to support Canadian athletes seeking Olympic qualification for Tokyo. It will also be the first qualifying opportunity for the 2022 World Athletics World Championships.
It is a well-known fact that athletes can often achieve great performances when the stress and stakes of a national championship are taken away. We want to place athletes in the best possible environment and the optimal conditions towards achieving higher level performance.
Athletes looking for IAAF standards, personal bests or just a good competition will surely find what they are looking for when participating in La Classique.
La Classique d'athlétisme de Montréal is organized with the technical and volunteer support of the Club d'athlétisme Saint-Laurent Sélect.
